Fast-growing NetIX selects Telehouse London Docklands for point-of-presence

Bulgaria-headquartered telecom solutions provider accelerates global growth from presence in Europe’s best-connected data centre hub.

To enable its rapid world-wide expansion, NetIX, one of the fastest-growing Internet Exchanges in the world, has partnered with global colocation provider, Telehouse creating a primary point-of-presence (PoP) in the Telehouse North data centre, at the Telehouse London Docklands campus.

After more than six years of using a partner to connect into Telehouse North, NetIX has brought the data centre fully on-net as one of its primary PoPs. This enhancement has reduced service turn-up times in this facility from within four weeks to less than four days. This acceleration is vital to support the NetIX platform’s dramatic growth in traffic, which has surged from 3Tbps to more than 4Tbps in just a few weeks.

Any NetIX customer in its Telehouse North PoP now has access to more than 50 Internet Exchanges around the world via one cross-connect, enabling Content Delivery Networks (CDNs), Internet Service Providers (ISPs), wholesale customers, and enterprises to achieve cost-effective, more resilient, lower latency connectivity across different continents.

The new PoP enables direct access to the global network of NetIX’s parent company Neterra from Telehouse North and brings many small networks in Eastern Europe, including Ukraine, into a much larger ecosystem.

“Telehouse London Docklands is an important place for us to be because we have a massive European network and have experienced monumental growth in traffic,” said Dean Belev, VP of Connectivity Services at NetIX. “Establishing this new PoP will enable us to accelerate our expansion across continents.

“We are continuously upgrading to support our customers better, rather than using third-party providers which adds to delays. Telehouse is the home of the Internet in the UK, has multiple locations around the globe and is a trusted name. Our new PoP gives us a more prominent presence on the traditional ring of Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam and Paris.”

Will Scott, Vice President Sales at Telehouse Europe, said: “Having worked indirectly for years with NetIX, we are very proud to be working with the company directly to support its remarkable growth. Their new Telehouse North PoP makes the NetIX platform part of Europe’s leading connectivity hub. We will be striving to ensure we serve NetIX’s business goals, helping expand its network efficiently and robustly with our fast and direct connections around the globe.”
