GCX Managed Services (GCX), which delivers cutting-edge networking solutions to leading brands in hospitality, retail, FMCG and manufacturing, has announced strong year-on-year growth, underlining its continued development and success. This achievement is driven by global customer acquisition and the successful upgrade of customers to next-generation, secure networking services.
GCX offers large and mid-sized enterprises speed and agility in delivering networking and security services through its global network and regional strategic partnerships. With a delivery capacity spanning over 100 countries and growing, the company has seen a strong uptake of its core network offerings from both new and existing customers. Its Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), Unified Communications, Network Operations Centre (NOC) as-a-Service offerings, as well as its flagship Zero Trust Network (GNSX), which integrates SD-WAN and SASE technology in a single platform, have proved to be excellent solutions for serving client’s needs. For its work with GNSX, GCX was named Palo Alto Networks’ Technical Partner of the Year in 2024.
GCX continues to operate alongside its sister Subsea and Data Centre division, which recently announced its rebrand to FLAG.
Lorenzo Romano, CEO of GCX Managed Services commented, “This year, GCX Managed Services has achieved significant growth and expanded its global customer base. Our success is a testament to the creativity and confidence of our team and the unmatched agility we can offer enterprises on a global scale. As we continue to invest in further automation for next-generation networks, the human touch will also remain at our core, guiding us through technical challenges as we execute our new strategic direction.”
Transformation driving customer-first growth
With strong backing from our investor 3i Infrastructure plc, GCX is focused on providing market-leading, high-performance solutions on a global scale. The company will strengthen its core offerings while advancing its automation and artificial intelligence (AI) tools across network monitoring, management and service assurance systems to simplify its stack for a seamless customer experience. An example is the implementation of automation for all level-one ticketing which has already freed up an estimated 500 hours for dedicated customer support.
Over the next 18 months, GCX will continue/increase its investment in its product roadmap, including developments in micro-segmentation, compliance services and automation, to solidify the company’s position as the leading provider of managed services delivering the secure networks of the future. This will facilitate customer transition from SD-WAN to reduce costs and eliminate vulnerabilities. These features can be offered either standalone or as part of a single vendor stack, to provide the perfect flexibility for complementing the company’s core SASE offerings and enabling a global Zero Trust network.
Investing in our leadership
To help drive forward the transformation of GCX, Gareth Williams has recently been appointed as Chairman and Lorenzo Romano as CEO. Romano has had a successful three-year tenure driving the growth of the managed services business as Managing Director of GCX, which he joined after leading Orange Business Services’ UK & Ireland managed services division. To support him as GCX grows and scales, Williams brings several decades of IT and telecoms experience, having run some of Europe’s largest independent fibre networks and held C-suite and board positions at the likes of Interoute and Gigaclear, the former of which was acquired by GTT Communications Inc. for $2.3 billion. His depth of experience scaling businesses in the telecoms and networking sectors will be a key advantage as GCX Managed Services looks to capitalise on its momentum to accelerate the next stage of its growth.
Gareth Williams, Chairman of GCX Managed Services added, “We’re more focused than ever on driving innovation, expanding our capabilities and delivering long-term value for our customers, partners and shareholders. 3i Infrastructure's ongoing investment will be key in allowing us to scale the business as we grow our global customer base of enterprises and support them in delivering next-generation global networks. In tandem, our ambitious product roadmap will help us accelerate our growth, capitalise on a strong enterprise market opportunity and enable us to deliver flexible, secure solutions to our customers worldwide.”
