Zayo Europe expands network in H1 2025

Zayo Europe bolsters pan-European network expansion and workforce growth, underlining its strategic focus in 2025.

In an impressive demonstration of growth, Zayo Europe, a prominent network infrastructure provider, has expanded the route miles it services by 61% during the first half of 2025, compared to the latter half of 2024. The data, released today, attests to the company's significant strides in reinforcing its pan-European presence.

The UK and Germany have been at the forefront of this expansion, with increases of 241% and 173% respectively, underscoring the strategic value of their partnership with GasLINE. This acceleration highlights the sustained momentum Zayo Europe has harnessed since its emergence as an independent entity in 2024, particularly focusing on the continent's intricate, interconnected nation network.

A cornerstone of this growth strategy is the connection of a broad array of data centres across Europe. As of the first half of 2025, Zayo Europe is successfully linking 600 data centres, a testament to the critical role of its infrastructure in powering essential technologies for businesses, large enterprises, and consumers alike.

Coupled with this geographical expansion, Zayo Europe has seen operational growth, notably reflected in a 10% increase in its workforce. This surge in hiring introduces fresh talent across numerous company sectors, including delivery, finance, service excellence, and people management.

The company's growth trajectory is poised to continue beyond H1, catalysed by its recent full acquisition of the Emerald Bridge subsea cable. This resource provides G.652D dark fibre and high-capacity wave services connecting the UK and Dublin, Ireland, enabling further advancements.

Colman Deegan, CEO at Zayo Europe, says: “We always viewed H1 2025 as a pivotal period for Zayo Europe... While growth has always been a key success metric, the pace at which our best-in-class fibre infrastructure is now connecting data centres and points of presence across major European markets is especially encouraging as we look ahead to the remainder of 2025 and beyond.

“Our continued network expansion not only enhances our service capabilities but also empowers our customers with greater reach, flexibility, and resilience, enabling them to scale operations, optimise performance, and react to evolving demands with confidence.

Zayo's strategic progress is a result of its visionary leadership and team dedication. Their emphasis on service excellence and continuous network expansion equips customers with enhanced capabilities, ensuring readiness to meet evolving market demands.
