Reading FC partners with Score to enhance game performance through Vision AI technology, revolutionising both on-pitch and management operations.

Reading Football Club are thrilled to announce a new venture with Score, a leading Vision AI company renowned for cutting-edge football performance analysis. This partnership marks a significant stride in incorporating artificial intelligence into the realm of football. Notably, Reading FC holds the distinction of being the first professional football club to appoint a Head of AI, underscoring their commitment to innovation.

The collaborative journey is set to last a year, focusing on the development of advanced video intelligence models, aimed at enhancing performances both on and off the field. The joint ambition is to craft a unique ‘Reading model’ – a bespoke AI system tailored to elevate the club's operations holistically.

The specialised Vision AI models will equip Reading FC with capabilities such as:

  • Conducting objective assessments of players across various leagues
  • Delivering quick and precise match analysis
  • Facilitating tactical preparation and opponent breakdowns
  • Utilising data-driven insights for astute recruitment decisions
  • Broadening applications into fan engagement, CCTV, and retail operations
