European enterprises gain access to sovereign AI infrastructure through partnership

Polarise and vCluster Labs partner to provide European mid-market enterprises with AI infrastructure that maintains data control and compliance.

Polarise, a European AI cloud provider, has partnered with vCluster Labs, the creator of an open-source virtualisation platform, to provide mid-market enterprises in Germany and other regions with access to AI compute infrastructure. The collaboration focuses on delivering solutions that address vendor lock-in and data sovereignty considerations.

The partnership leverages Polarise's sovereign cloud capabilities alongside vCluster's virtual cluster technology. Together, they provide isolated Kubernetes environments designed to support data residency, operational separation, and infrastructure transparency requirements. Operating within European jurisdiction, the setup allows customers to manage data location and operational policies under Polarise's governance framework.

Although vCluster Labs is incorporated in the United States, its team includes European engineers, and significant technical operations are based in Europe. This complements Polarise's focus on European-centred cloud infrastructure. The collaboration provides a cloud infrastructure foundation that supports data governance and sovereignty requirements.

The partnership reflects experience with European data regulations, including GDPR compliance, open-standards architecture, and data control within Europe. Polarise's AI Factories, located in Munich and Oslo, with Frankfurt planned, provide physical infrastructure. vCluster Labs' platform enables rapid provisioning of isolated Kubernetes environments on shared GPU infrastructure.

The platform supports data portability and avoids vendor lock-in by using open-source Kubernetes technology. GPU clusters are projected to scale from 576 to over 3,400 GPUs by 2026, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and value delivery.

The joint solution maintains GDPR compliance while providing modern cloud infrastructure capabilities. By integrating GPU resources with managed Kubernetes environments, the partnership facilitates AI infrastructure development while adhering to European data privacy and sovereignty standards.
