Wasabi 'ignites' EMEA channel growth

Wasabi Technologies has accelerated momentum across its EMEA partner ecosystem in Q1 2026, doubling down on cyber resilience as organisations face rising ransomware threats, AI-driven data growth, and mounting cost pressures.

The insights from the 2026 Wasabi Global Cloud Storage Index highlight the urgency for action: 42% of European organisations experienced a cyberattack that resulted in loss of access to cloud data, while 92% are now backing up production AI data and applications. The growing number of corporate AI deployments is accelerating the need to secure primary and back-up data as part of wider cyber resilience strategies.

To help partners capitalise on the market demand, Wasabi is equipping MSPs, VARs, distributors, and system integrators with solutions that combine enterprise-grade protection, operational flexibility, and predictable economics. At the centre of this is Covert Copy, a patent-pending ransomware recovery capability that creates an invisible, immutable copy of critical data ensuring it remains protected and inaccessible even during an attack.

Wasabi has strengthened its cyber resilience proposition through its expanded alliance with Commvault, delivering a joint solution focused on trusted data protection and cost-effective cloud storage. In addition, Wasabi enhanced its integration with Synology, enabling partners to deliver seamless, secure backup and storage solutions that combine on-premises infrastructure with scalable cloud storage. These technology integrations simplify deployment for MSPs and resellers while strengthening cyber resilience strategies through risk mitigation, rapid recovery through immutable back-ups, and cost-efficient data management, particularly for customers looking to modernise their data protection environments.

To accelerate the execution of partner growth even further, Wasabi has introduced Wasabi Account Control Manager Self-Activation, providing MSPs with free, multi-tenant management and one-click onboarding. This reduces time-to-market and improves operational efficiency, generating a critical advantage in a competitive channel.

“Cyber resilience has moved from an IT priority to a business imperative, and our partners are leading this change of mindset across EMEA,” said Kevin Dunn, VP and General Manager EMEA at Wasabi Technologies. “With innovation like Covert Copy, deeper ecosystem integrations with long-term partners like Commvault and Synology, and flexible consumption models, we’re enabling partners to deliver secure, high-performance storage solutions that protect critical data while giving customers the cost control and simplicity they need to scale.”

Wasabi’s partner-centric strategy continues to drive growth across the region, with partners using its zero egress fees, high-performance architecture, and predictable pricing model to win competitive deals in fast-growth areas such as data protection and AI.

Roland Leick, Co-CEO of cloudgermany.de GmbH and RÖDL IT Operation GmbH, added:

“Wasabi’s Covert Copy function is more than a last line of defense for our infrastructure. We have been working with Wasabi for several years already to protect our data and copying vital customer information into their cloud. With the enablement of Covert Copy, we can now 100% trust the security of the stored data and we can also re-store them at any given point. This solution fulfills our requirements of CIA: Confidence, Integrity and Availability. This value is also provided to all of our customers.”

Neil Brosnan, Vendor Alliance Director at Exclusive Networks UK, said:

“Our partnership with Wasabi is built on a shared belief that cyber resilience starts with data — how it’s stored, protected and governed. As organisations adopt AI and modern applications, the volume and value of data is exploding, bringing new regulatory pressures and a broader attack surface. The ability to manage, secure and recover that data has now become business critical. Together, we’re helping partners unlock that opportunity by combining high-performance cloud storage with go-to-market expertise and support to drive real growth across the UK.”
