Wipro Limited, an AI-enabled technology services and consulting firm, has completed a data centre migration programme for METRO AG, a global food wholesale organisation. The project represents a stage in METRO’s broader cloud transformation and the establishment of a more scalable digital infrastructure.
The initiative supports METRO’s cloud-first approach and ongoing digital development. Wipro migrated METRO’s IT infrastructure from legacy data centres to a multi-cloud environment using a phased implementation approach.
As a result of the migration, METRO’s cybersecurity posture, digital capabilities, and operational flexibility have been enhanced, and the environment now supports further automation initiatives, including areas such as user lifecycle management.
Using Wipro Intelligence, a set of AI-based platforms and solutions, METRO can automate certain service requests to improve processing speed and consistency. AI-assisted engineering tools have also been used to support software development, improve code quality, and reduce time to resolve issues, including identifying recurring patterns and operational problems.
The collaboration reflects an enterprise IT transformation programme involving infrastructure modernisation and increased use of automation and AI-based tools. Wipro Intelligence is positioned within this setup as part of ongoing efforts to support operational decision-making and development processes.
