Virgin Media Business on hunt for Three New Things

Virgin Media Business is searching for three game-changing digital innovations that could transform the way we live and work for good.

The search aims to unearth ideas and projects that have not yet gained attention and give them a platform that will propel them into the public domain.
The company is hunting out powerful innovations, whether it is one line of code or an entirely new piece of tech. Each needs the potential to change the way we live or do business.

The ‘Three New Things’ will be unveiled at Virgin Media Business’ 2014 annual event in March, attended by the UK’s top 250 most influential players, from high profile telecoms companies, tech-savvy customers, key industry journalists and influential analysts.

The winning innovations will receive a unique package of mentoring and support, including an opportunity to speak to Richard Branson about his experiences of launching a new brand into the market, introductions to Virgin Media Business network, as well as up to £25,000 in free business telecoms.

Throughout 2014 and beyond the company will track the progress of these innovations, from ‘neat idea’ to serious tech player – charting the highs and lows of bringing a new idea to life and to market.

Peter Kelly, managing director, Virgin Media Business, said: “Britain has a digital competitive advantage that we should all be proud of. That advantage has been born out of a desire to adopt new technologies and transformative ideas that can often start from something small and simple.

“At Virgin Media Business, we live and breathe this philosophy and have had some great ‘firsts’, such as Sync-E Gigabit Ethernet, free public wifi and small cells trials. Having taken new ideas and run with them ourselves, we’re very well placed to uncover the next new things.

“Digital could and should power Britain’s economy and change the way we live and work for the better. We’re committed to helping others make the most of that potential. Today I’m calling on innovators to grab this unique opportunity to make their idea a reality.”

Entries can come from any technological area. Entries for Three New Things are now open and can be submitted via http://www.vmb3newthings.co.uk/ where additional information about the search, terms and conditions and the detail about the March event are also available.
