Providing managed hosting, colocation and network services to over 500 clients globally, Coreix will look to encourage its stakeholders and suppliers to demonstrate their organization’s commitment to energy efficient ICT systems by assisting them in becoming participants. This will ensure that they are using 100% renewable energy when conducting their operations.
The Data Centres Code of Conduct was created in response to increasing energy consumption in data centres and the need to reduce the related environmental, economic and energy supply impacts. The aim is to inform and stimulate operators and owners to reduce energy consumption in a cost-effective manner without hampering the critical function of data centres. Providing a platform to bring together European stakeholders to discuss and agree voluntary actions which will improve energy efficiency following European conditions such as the climate and energy market regulations.
Commenting on the news, Paul Davies, Technical Director of Coreix, said: “We are delighted to be an endorser of the EU Code of Conduct for Datacentres and look forward to encouraging our suppliers and stakeholders to adopting green practices when carrying out their IT operations.”
