Syncplicity has detailed the plans of its rapid expansion into Europe and key investment in the region. Driving digital transformation within businesses, Syncplicity enables users to seamlessly access and share information without any compromise on security or control. Combining security and management capabilities, Syncplicity's unique policy-driven hybrid cloud enables organisations to choose whether data is stored on or off-premise and in which region, upholding the principles of security, compliance and privacy which are critical for European and global businesses.

Syncplicity focuses on serving the needs of large enterprises and has millions of users supported across the globe. By providing a path to digital transformation, Syncplicity enables corporations, municipal agencies and universities to realise substantial cost and efficiency benefits. Through replacing outmoded data storage and access methodologies with a flexible and scalable architecture that recognises the specific data security and privacy demands that apply in their region, Syncplicity's customers can enhance security of their data while providing their users with a world-class mobile and collaboration environment, and also save substantial costs.

New EVP Worldwide Sales
As part of its global expansion, Syncplicity has appointed Jan Jensen as executive vice president of worldwide sales. Jan joins Syncplicity from Nuance where he was the senior vice president sales and general manager of EMEA, leading a team that contributed to the substantial growth of this market leading company. With more than 20 years' experience working in leading IT companies, Jan's extensive enterprise experience makes him ideally positioned to drive Syncplicity's sales teams across the world. Based in Europe, Jensen and his team will also spearhead Syncplicity's growth in the region and have already achieved several major customer wins, capitalising on the demand for an enterprise file sync and share solution which addresses the European specific demands for data control.

"Today we're seeing the potential for digital transformation within businesses on an unprecedented scale around the world and this presents a huge opportunity," said Jan Jensen, executive vice president of worldwide sales at Syncplicity. "In the US Syncplicity has seen huge successes with large scale customers including the Associated Press and Texas A&M University and I am excited to extend this reach globally. There is a great need for enterprise-grade solutions which enable customers to be more competitive in an ever-changing global digital economy, and expanding our business into Europe will help us to support customers in the region as well as global organisations with operations here."

European-based Cloud Storage
In addition to the expansion of its European team, Syncplicity recently added a European-based cloud storage facility which is located in Frankfurt, Germany, and will be adding an EU-based cloud orchestration layer later this year. Businesses in high tech manufacturing, financial services, energy, government and utilities are key users and prospects for this offering which squarely addresses their need to protect their most valuable corporate asset: confidential intellectual property.

The newly available European-based cloud storage option supports Syncplicity's customers in transforming their businesses by providing employees with seamless access to information while ensuring the protection of corporate files. With one click, customers can chose to store their data exactly where they need to, offering even more ways to secure critical data and empowering global companies to comply with European Union (EU) data privacy regulations. Syncplicity also includes model clauses in its cloud services agreements, providing a legal framework to uphold the data protection requirements of the EU.

Syncplicity is the first vendor to provide a European-based cloud storage option that integrates into a single end-user experience where one account works across multiple regions. Where many vendors offer one datacenter approach, Syncplicity provides customers with choice while maintaining strong privacy and encryption controls to keep data secure and confidential. The new architecture will enable Syncplicity to add further regional zones in the future depending on market demand as it expands globally.

"Europe represents a huge opportunity for us and Jan's specific enterprise experience makes him the ideal candidate for leading Syncplicity's sales efforts in the region and at a global level," said Jon Huberman, chief executive officer at Syncplicity. "Jan will drive the expansion of our sales teams across the world to help bring digital transformation to businesses on a global scale. We are the only vendor in the market providing customers with the flexibility that hybrid cloud models offer to make their businesses successful in an intrinsically global and digital landscape."
