Virtual Instruments has appointed Sean O’Donnell as its new EMEA managing director. Sean joins Virtual Instruments fresh from his success as vice president of sales at artificial intelligence (AI) expert IPsoft, where he built sales teams that delivered substantial growth in both new and existing accounts. Prior to this role, Sean built and grew EMEA annual turnover for digital infrastructure management leader SevOne from zero to approximately $20 million in five years. Previous roles included EMEA sales leadership for EMC Smarts, part of the EMC Service Assurance Suite.
Reporting to Virtual Instruments’ senior vice-president of sales Warren Bell, Sean is focused on growing the company’s business in EMEA. This includes building on the company’s success in the UK, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, where Virtual Instruments has customers that include some of the world’s largest banking, finance, telecommunications, and retail organisations. Sean will also aim to increase market share in the Nordic and Benelux markets, with an expanded team offering to deliver support to new and existing customers.
Virtual Instruments is the industry’s first application-centric infrastructure performance management provider for the hybrid data centre. Its vendor-independent solutions deliver a unified real-time view of infrastructure performance in service of enterprise applications, whether they are deployed on-premises or in the cloud. Sean’s appointment emphasises Virtual Instruments’ commitment to growth in EMEA. It follows the company’s successful 2016 which saw double-digit revenue growth as well as the merger with storage performance analytics leader Load DynamiX and the acquisition of hybrid cloud and virtualisation performance management company Xangati.
