Nokia has been a system supplier for Polkomtel since 1996, firstly with 2G and 3G networks and then 4G. The deal continues Nokia’s long-standing partnership with Polkomtel into the 5G era. Polkomtel is one of Poland’s most innovative operators and was one of the first networks globally to launch a mass rollout of LTE already in 2011.
Jacek Felczykowski, Member of the Management Board of Cyfrowy Polsat S.A and Polkomtel Sp. z o.o., operator of Plus network, said: “Plus is at the forefront of innovative technology in Poland and we are proud to be the first mobile operator to launch 5G services in May this year and deliver incredible connectivity experiences to our subscribers. Nokia is our long-standing partner and we are glad we can cooperate also while building the fastest 5G network in Poland.”
