Veeam updates licensing models

There is a shift taking place in the way customers purchase their IT solutions, and it’s no surprise that technology is moving further into a subscription licensing model. Experts predict that this will become the new normal and if MSPs do not transform and adapt, they risk losing revenue and customers.

Veeam is following this paradigm and has recently made the following announcement:

“Veeam® has announced the end-of-sale of per-socket perpetual licenses for Veeam Backup & Replication™, Veeam Availability Suite™, Veeam Backup Essentials™ and Veeam ONE™ to both new and existing customers for all editions, effective July 1, 2022.”

Not only will this change have a fundamental impact on Veeam partners and MSPs, but it also means that in the short term there will be three ways to buy Veeam licences, with varying capabilities and pricing.

We understand that many Veeam partners are still unclear on the new licencing models. The Veeam licensing workshop will cut through the Sockets, VUL’s and SaaS’s to show the best way that you and your customers can benefit from these new licensing opportunities.

Speak directly to licensing specialists from Veeam’s largest channel-focused reseller approved partner and Veeam’s leading aggregator.

Workshop overview

These free sessions aim to help the VCSP and reseller community explore how the latest licensing changes can be applied to their unique business scenarios and will cover:

  • Veeam licensing and how it is changing.
  • The importance of reviewing Veeam support contracts before July 2022, when perpetual socket licences end.
  • How to ensure you can select the best value option for your customer.
  • Subscription or Service: how to identify the most appropriate option for each of your projects.
  • Training on the new Veeam pricing/licensing tool
  • Q&A session with Veeam licensing experts

Attendees will also receive access to a Veeam pricing tool, which will help establish how the new licensing models compare to the current options and which of these models is best for customers.

Workshops are taking place on Wednesday 26th January, Thursday 17th February, and Thursday 24th March.
