ServerChoice expands data centre with new data hall

The data centre provider has expanded its services in Stevenage to meet growing demand.

Data centre provider ServerChoice has announced the launch of a new data hall to meet growing demand at its Stevenage data centre.

The new hall will expand operations and capabilities at the Stevenage data centre, which is ServerChoice’s third site in addition to data centres in Harlow and Central London. Chosen as a location for its balance of low risk and accessibility, the expansion of the centre enables ServerChoice to increase its capacity and grow its customer base, which includes Motability and VisitBritain.

The new hall, comprised of 47 racks, makes use of hot aisle containment, leading to greater efficiency with no limit on rack loading. Each rack will receive 2x 32A (15 kW) of power, and is backed up by a dedicated UPS and generator.

Connectivity for the new data hall is powered by ProjectJet, a colocation connectivity platform which uses the latest Juniper fusion clusters and resilient connections to multiple upstream connectivity providers and multiple redundant intra-site and inter-site links to provide 100% uptime.

This also includes access to the new ServerChoice Connect service, which allows seamless direct-from-rack connectivity to thousands of ISPs, telcos, clouds and data centres, with the aim of providing businesses with flexible connectivity. Any businesses looking to make use of the new data hall can also have their hardware moved free of charge with ServerChoice’s FlexMove® service.

Adam Bradshaw, Commercial Director at ServerChoice, said: “We are proud to be expanding our offerings at ServerChoice with a new data hall. We’ve seen demand increase for services from our Stevenage data centre, and this new expansion will help us continue to deliver for our customers.

“With many businesses facing uncertainty, flexibility to respond to changing events is a priority. Our new data hall means we can offer this flexibility to more businesses, and provide them with 100% uptime to help them navigate the coming months and years.”
