Deep Green and Civo form partnership to make cloud sustainable 

Deep Green, the team pioneering carbon-neutral compute, has announced a new partnership with Civo, the only pure-play cloud native service provider. The agreement will see Civo become Deep Green’s exclusive cloud partner.  

The new partnership between Civo and Deep Green will give Civo customers the exclusive opportunity to run their cloud workloads on Deep Green’s servers, giving them access to a groundbreaking sustainable cloud solution. Not only will this help companies move towards a sustainable and net-zero future, but it will provide Deep Green with a constant workload to generate zero carbon heat to power its community based projects.  

Data centers currently produce 3% of global emissions. To combat the problem, Deep Green captures 90% of the heat produced by servers and puts it to good use by using it to provide free hot water. Deep Green’s solution dramatically reduces energy bills and environmental costs for organizations that require significant amounts of heat, such as swimming pools, food manufacturers and textile firms amongst many. Using a small-edge data center, or a ‘digital boiler’, the system immerses computers in mineral oil to capture the generated heat, this is then passed through a heat exchanger to heat the water.  

Users will be given the option to select the Deep Green region from Civo’s range of regions; from there, they’ll be able to run their cloud workloads on Deep Green’s Exmouth systems. As Deep Green continues to expand, Civo customers will be able to run their workloads at a range of Deep Green data center sites, with their compute used to generate heat in communities across the UK.  

This partnership is another step from Civo as it commits to a sustainable future. Civo is offering access at a competitive price and has kept its pricing consistent across its regions as it encourages more of its customers to pivot to green solutions.
