Mace bolsters data centre construction leadership team

Mace, the global programme and project delivery consultant and construction expert, has made two senior appointments to its Technology & Manufacturing business to bolster its delivery capacity in the growing data centre market in the UK and Ireland.

Elaine Denman, who’s been with Mace since 2018, has been appointed as Commercial Director for Technology & Manufacturing. Elaine previously was a Commercial Director in the Private Sector business unit, where she covered a number of complex projects, pioneering innovative construction approaches.

Over her 30-year career, Elaine has worked with several blue-chip technology clients, and has worked on major hyperscale data centre projects. She has had significant experience working overseas including in Australia and the US.

Caroline Batter has re-joined the business as an Operations Director after 12 years. Before re-joining Mace, Caroline was one of the founders of Yondr Group, where she subsequently went on to deliver several hyperscale data centres across 15 countries in Europe and APAC up to 96 MW in size

With over 20 years of specialist experience in the data centre market, Caroline has held roles in contracting, consulting and as a client - delivering over a gigawatt of data centre capacity.

Alister Grey, Managing Director, Technology & Manufacturing, Mace Construct, says: “The surge in cloud computing and AI in recent years has created an urgent need for data centres to be constructed in the UK and Ireland.

“We are responding to this demand, and with this move are strengthening our senior team with two experienced and commercially astute leaders.

“Elaine and Caroline will be instrumental in delivering for our clients going forward in this growing market”.
